Twitter

I think it's great that library is using Twitter. If this is how the world learns about what's happening everywhere, then that's what library should be using. We can "twit" about programs, events, author readings, anything! I'm glad that Shawnessy is one of the branches that "twit" regulary.

Library Thing

Library Thing is amazing site for book lovers. I just read reviews of the book I am reading right now - can't be more excited. The site is very easy to navigate and I can see myself spending hours just browsing... Well, I wish I have those hours - can barely find time to read books. As for more practical use - as a facilitator of Adult Book Club in the library I will use the site to get published book reviews.

Online Productivity Tools

I don't really thing that any online productivity tools will replace software. There is so much more options and capabilities in this software I am sure there always be a market for it. And I think I'll stick with traditional methods. On the other hand, there are a lots of advantages to have all your documents available to you on any computer at any time.

Flickr & YouTube

Both websites are very user friendly. I use similar to Flickr program to store my own photos. The great things about it - you can be as private or open as you want. And it's free. YouTube is great entertainment and lots of fun.

RSS

Signing for the Bloglines account and getting some of the RSS feeds was easy. We will see now if it's going to add some more clatter to my mail box...
I also subscribed for library news on the Bloglines.com - really curious what kind of information I'll be getting now.

Google Universe

It's a real hard question - what we like about Google? But what even harder is to imagine now the life before Google. It changed the way we use Internet, the way we get information and probably even the way we think. I use Goggle and it's products a lot, recommend it always for friens and customers. And I was happy to find a few new things - including Google Books. Not just classics, but more - even cook books!
What not to like about Google?

I have a Facebook account for some time now but don't use it very often. It's a great tool to get and keep in touch with people. I like to read my friend's walls and see new pictures but I try not to spend a lot of time there. It could be very time consuming or not - it's all up to a user.
